Blizzard recently invited a bunch of journalists, YouTubers, and Twitch streamers to test the latest class in Diablo 4, the Spiritborn. The official presentation is yet to come, but at least one of the participants is already speaking out.
What is the streamer talking about?
- The Spiritborn is the new class that will be released with the first expansion Vessel of Hatred in October.
- The official presentation will be on July 18th. In advance, Blizzard has already invited experts to California to test the new class in a large event.
- Right after his return, the Twitch streamer Kripparrian, primarily known for Hearthstone, has already shared some of his experience.
What Kripparrian says: In his stream on Twitch, Kripparrian mentioned that he was recently at Blizzard’s home. He says he can’t reveal too much, but he does drop a few words about the Spiritborn:
The stuff at Blizzard was really cool. I think I can say the new class is really cool, which doesn’t really say much, and that’s about all I can say. […]
This is one of those things you know everyone will play. I think they had that with World of Warcraft when demon hunters [came]. I didn’t play during the demon hunter release, but I heard everyone was playing it. It messed up all the party compositions and everything.

So far, there isn’t much information from other influencers either. It is only after the livestream on Thursday, July 18th, that everyone will be allowed to share their experiences publicly. Then you will find all the details we learned at the event here on MeinMMO.
However, Kripparrian’s short statement has already created excitement on Reddit. Fans are looking forward to something completely new and say: That the Spiritborn will be so popular according to Kripparrian indicates that it might outshine some other classes.
Others are already worried about balancing and believe the Spiritborn will definitely be hopelessly overpowered at release.

Blizzard introduces the new class – Here’s what we already know
We have summarized everything in our special on MeinMMO, what is already known about the Spiritborn and what fans, experts, and veterans suspect. However, Blizzard hasn’t released many details yet, and there are no reliable leaks either.
The class is supposed to be an “ultimate predator” of the jungle and is closely tied to the new area Nahantu:
- Visually, the Spiritborn resemble Mesoamerican warriors, so they have a similar look to fighters of the Maya and Inca.
- In the images, they carry a spear or a glaive and harness the power of spirits, likely making them a mix of physical and magical attacks.
- Players suspect that the Spiritborn will incorporate elements from the Druid or Necromancer (Diablo 4), the Monk (Diablo 3), and the Amazon (Diablo 2).
At the event, we had the opportunity to play the Spiritborn. However, we cannot reveal more details at this time. Together with several journalists, we met experts and influencers like Rob and Maurice Weber at the event.
Although Kripparrian is already sure that everyone will want to play the Spiritborn, fans have actually been wishing for something completely different since the release of Diablo 4: a Paladin or Crusader.
