In WildStar , the number of servers is once again being reduced. This is primarily hoped to bring some benefits to the PvP players.
PvP Currency – now also available in PvE
A big change is coming to Carbine’s MMORPG WildStar: the remaining 4 servers will be shrunk down to 2. The two PvP servers Warhound and Luminai are being retired, and on March 16, all existing characters and guilds will be transferred to Entity(US) and Jabbit(EU). This is expected to lead to a better experience for the remaining PvP players since these two servers in WildStar are almost extinct – the “mass” of players is playing on the PvE mega servers.

Those who do not want to wait until March 16 can already take advantage of a free character transfer to acclimate to the new environment. This is strongly advised, as in the case of duplicate names the rules apply: First come, first served, and active players before inactive ones.
Additional incentives for PvP, especially in the open world, will be offered by rewarding players when they have activated their PvP flag. Regular opponents (at a reasonable level) now also drop Prestige and additional gold upon defeat, which is intended to motivate more players to engage in the dangers of PvP more often.

Mein-MMO says: The repeated merging of servers and thus the ultimate reduction of servers to 2 worldwide only further reinforces the grim picture that looms over Carbine’s MMORPG. Whether the additional incentives will be enough to truly motivate players to engage in more PvP is questionable. With the mentioned changes, it could also simply happen that PvP completely falls asleep and players get their rewards solely from PvE – as Prestige can now be farmed without having to deal with “annoying” other players. Is this really the solution to the problem?
