The big WildStar patch not only brings Free2Play but also numerous quality of life improvements in almost every area of the game.
Six times we will be awake …
Next Tuesday marks the long-awaited transition of the payment model in WildStar. From then on, anyone interested can try out the SciFi MMORPG completely free of charge and see for themselves the new features and improvements. In a new blog post, the developers will discuss the quality of life features that are meant to make life on Nexus easier for both new and returning players. Let’s take a quick look at the various small upgrades in quality of life.
Junk and Fast Travel
A long-demanded feature will particularly please those with poor inventory management skills. A new setting ensures that your backpacks are automatically cleared of all junk as soon as you visit a merchant. Alternatively, you can disable the function and have a small button to handle this manually – saving time and being practical.
“Saving time” seems to be an important point for WildStar: A new fast travel system allows you to teleport from anywhere in the world to settlements and camps across the entire world map. This incurs a small fee and is subject to a cooldown, which can, however, be bypassed with an item from the in-game shop.
Navigation Points and the Content Finder
If you enjoy solving jumping puzzles or just want to explore maps completely, you will be pleased with the new navigation points. Players can now place their own markers on their map and will be guided to the destination via a holo-arrow (just like with quests before). With just a Shift+Left Click, you set the marker and will be navigated safely there – unless there is a cliff on the route.
Lastly, the group finder is also getting a makeover. It will lose its name (as it sounds so much like it’s from the year 2000) and will instead be called Content Finder. The new tool will be your best companion for any kind of group content when there are no friends online. Whether it’s expeditions, adventures, dungeons, battlegrounds, arenas, or war bases, the content finder can be used for every form of play – with the exception of raids.
In addition to the mentioned changes, the F2P patch brings many other improvements; find out about them on our WildStar theme page.
