At the start of the Open Beta a new WildStar video has been released. However, those who expected a humorous visual explosion with striking accents, even more striking words, teeth-baring furballs, and plenty of explosions, might be surprised. They can do other things too! And not badly at all.
The video proves that many do not believe at first glance: WildStar has a serious, even bombastic background story. As in the sci-fi thriller Prometheus, there is also an ancient race in WildStar, the “Creators” or Eldar, who traveled and explored the universe long before the younger races. Long gone, they have left their traces everywhere. Nexus, the mysterious planet over which the Exiles and the Dominion will fight, is considered the home planet of the Creators… And the rush that draws all intelligent races of the universe to this outpost of civilization at once – what consequences will it have? What secrets does the planet hold? And would it perhaps be better to leave what sleeps eternally undisturbed?
With the atmospheric cinematic trailer, Carbine shows that behind the sci-fi MMORPG there is a background concept that can give players the coveted “epic” kick.
