The SF-MMO WildStar is transitioning from separate worlds to Mega-Servers. The date is not yet finalized, but it looks like mid-October.
Over the weekend, WildStar posted a major “State of the Game” update from Mike Donatelli, who talked about the future of WildStar, which has not looked so bright in recent weeks. Carbine hopes that the transition to Mega-Servers will make the world of Nexus feel more vibrant again.
At the moment, there is still no exact timeframe for the transition. Now the Director of Operations at WildStar, Cougar, has stated that they are still on schedule. Originally, they spoke of three to six weeks. Currently, it looks like they might just meet this timeline. The Mega-Servers are currently in a testing phase, and there may still be delays, hence there is no exact date yet.
However, the Mega-Servers are not tied to the 3rd content drop (which is scheduled for early November). Cougar’s announcement suggests that the Mega-Servers could go live around mid-October and thus six weeks after the announcement in early September.
