But no matter how long one sometimes tweaks the face, hairstyle, or name – at some point, you might still be dissatisfied. Unfortunately, requests for a hairdresser or barber in WildStar have not yet been heeded, but a name change is now available: For 16.99 euros, you can rename your character!
The idea itself is not new. In MMOs like World of Warcraft, you can also make character adjustments for real money. However, this service was only introduced significantly after the release.
If this is an attempt at reconciliation for the pre-order customers who, due to massive issues, could not secure their names, it might not be very clever – as a final clarification is still pending. To remind you: on one hand, the website was inaccessible for hours due to technical reasons – on the other hand, the reserved character and guild names were tied to the email address. Since some players had problems receiving emails from WildStar with free email providers, they changed their email address and lost their reserved names. On June 17, 2014, these will be released, and then it means to be quick. Whether affected players will receive a free name change is still unclear.
If you decide to change your name for a fee, the following rules apply:
- Can be done once every 24 hours.
- The name must meet WildStar’s naming requirements
- and of course, be unique on your realm.
