A few days ago, the latest WildStar update hit the test servers, and even though it is still a quite early version, it contains a lot of changes, improvements, and expansions for the sci-fi MMO. We have listed the most exciting new features we know so far for you.
Character Customizations – Cosmetic Surgeries (by ProtoStar! … presumably)
In Illium and Thayd, there will be a new NPC in the future who will allow players to adjust their character’s appearance for gold, even retroactively. Depending on the change, the cost can vary from many gold coins to a few platinum coins. The specific attributes that can be changed are not final yet, but race and gender will likely be excluded.
More Customization: Housing and Costumes
As housing continues to be very popular, the system will of course be expanded. Many players complained that their house “ruins the property,” but it cannot be removed, as that would leave an empty interior. This issue is now being addressed in an amusing way: with the upcoming patch, players will be able to purchase an “underground bunker” as a house – only the entry hatch will be visible above, and the entire rest of the property can be freely developed.
At the same time, a whole lot of new costumes will be implemented in the game, which might particularly appeal to role players: from the outfit of a heavily bandaged wounded to the space cowboy costume, a wide variety is represented.
Raiding now for 20 people, a new shipboy mission
As previously promised, there will be a new version of the old 40-player “Data Zone” raid – now designed for only 20 players. Future raids are also expected to have this size, as they are received much better by players and involve significantly less organizational effort for the raid guilds.
But even in the lower-level area, players can look forward to a new shipboy mission, whose English title is currently “Fragment Zero”. A veteran version is also expected, as there are already hints of it in the achievements.
The new patch will surely receive several updates, and we will keep you informed. If the schedule is adhered to, it should be released in late January or early February.
