The controversially discussed Western MMO Wild West Online launches today in Early Access. The developers confidently call their game “Multiplayer Red Dead.” However, many players are skeptical whether the game can live up to all the promises.
The Western MMO Wild West Online is often compared to the upcoming game Red Dead Redemption II – especially by the developers themselves. Both games have the Wild West as a backdrop and are supposed to offer multiplayer modes. However, details about the multiplayer mode of Red Dead II are still unclear.
Wild West Online will definitely be a survival MMO and therefore confidently refers to itself as “Multiplayer Red Dead” in press releases.
Early Access is supposed to bring more content – players are skeptical
Wild West Online is thus seeking closeness to the legendary Red Dead series from Rockstar. However, not everything is going smoothly with Wild West Online. The last planned alpha was canceled because, according to player feedback, too much content was still missing.
On November 15, 2017, the Early Access version started. It is supposed to contain the long-awaited content. Wild West Online has recently been criticized sharply for having too little content.
The EA version is now supposed to include the following features:
- 100 quests
- 20 weapons
- Two public events, “Artifact Hunt” & “Golden Road”
- Gold mining
- Bounty hunting for NPCs in the open world
- New skills
- Customization options for players and horses
That sounds like a lot of cool content, but many players remain skeptical. The rumor that Wild West Online is just a smoke and mirrors game because the notorious Sergey Titov is involved is still in the air, and according to many players, the previous experience with Wild West Online has been rather mediocre.
