With WiLD, game developer Michel Ancel is currently working on an interesting open-world game where you can control nature.
You start as a male or female member of a prehistoric tribe and initially explore the world and its wonders as a child. You can choose your own path and grow up over time. As a shaman, you can dominate the animal world, controlling small frogs or huge bears and even soar through the skies as an eagle. You could describe WiLD as a kind of survival game.
A Huge World
In the vast open world, you are completely free to roam. There is a functioning ecosystem where stronger animals hunt the weaker ones. You yourself can also end up on the menu of some creatures. Therefore, you must always be on your guard and set up your camp at night in safe places like up in a tree. You will also encounter other tribes that may not be friendly. You can always accept the help of animals and influence the environment through their perspective.
As a small rabbit, for example, you lure big fish that see the rabbit as food. You quickly switch back to kill the attracted fish and procure food for your tribe. If a hostile tribe attacks yours, you switch into the skin of a bear and rush into the enemy camp to diminish them. Or you pray at a sacred place for the favor of one of the gods. The sandbox gameplay principle is at the forefront. There are no predefined goals. Each player creates their own story.
Not an MMO, but Still Multiplayer
WiLD will also offer a multiplayer mode but is not an MMO. At any time, other players can jump into your game and assist you as animals or even attack you! You can also do the same and switch into someone else’s game. It is said to be reminiscent of the multiplayer mode of the PlayStation 4 RPG Bloodborne. By the way, you can only play WiLD online; there is no option to go offline. Currently, it is not yet known when WiLD will be released. However, it is a PlayStation 4 exclusive title.
