Blizzard improves rewards in World of Warcraft. Soon, world quests will offer significantly better rewards.
Many players may not find the rewards from world quests in World of Warcraft very useful anymore. However, this is likely to change for some, as Blizzard plans to enhance the loot gained from world quests and related activities. This will take effect next week, following the server maintenance on April 24.
How will the rewards be improved? Overall, the developers are increasing the item level of items from four sources:
- Rewards from world quests will scale up to item level 370 (previously 360).
- Equipment from emissary quests will scale up to item level 395 (previously 385).
- Azerite gear from emissary quests will scale up to item level 400 (previously 385).
- Rewards from the quest “Imbalance of Power” (when available) will increase to item level 395 (previously 385).
The improvement only affects new equipment earned starting next Wednesday. No items will be retroactively upgraded.
Why is the item level of world quests being adjusted? Blizzard wants to keep many content pieces reasonably relevant. As the new raid “Crucible of Storms” will also be available in LFR starting Wednesday, all players should be able to meet the requirements through world quests alone. Therefore, the item level of many rewards will be increased.
Players should hold onto quests: Since the item level of emissary quests is increasing, players should save their emissary quests on Monday and Tuesday if they promise equipment. These quests can then be turned in on Wednesday and will contain better rewards.
Do you think it’s good that the rewards from world quests are becoming better again? Or does that devalue too many other rewards for which you have worked hard?
