Today, on June 17, the Season servers in Black Desert started. They have some special features that are particularly interesting for newcomers and fans of PvE content. For example, there is no PvP on the servers.
What are the Season servers? Currently, you can create a so-called Season character in Black Desert. This is available once per account and has exclusive access to one of the currently 5 Season servers in the game.
There, you will receive 100% more experience points, 20% more talent XP, and can earn special items. Another special feature is that all players on the Season servers start at 0, apart from a shared account storage.
And on the servers, there is no open PvP outside of guild wars!
So if you have always wanted to explore Black Desert as a newcomer or PvE player, you now have the chance. We from MeinMMO will tell you in this guide what you can do in the endgame of the MMORPG.

Seasons are perfect for newcomers in Black Desert
How does a Season work? The first Season is supposed to run until autumn. You can already go to the normal servers with the Season character, but you cannot enter Season servers with normal characters.
When the Season is over, you can continue playing your new character normally. Ideally, you will have already gathered a lot of XP and good gear. Because that is what it’s all about in the Season.
How do you get special equipment? On the Season servers, you can expect special daily quests from Fughar:
- If you complete all 40, you will receive a “PEN (V)”-Capotia accessory,
- This corresponds to a “TET (IV)” yellow quality accessory for regular characters.
For those who are not familiar with these terms, it should be noted that one must grind considerably on official servers for this. PEN stands for the highest enhancement level possible for an item, with additional item levels available.
The 40 quests are said to be easy to complete and will also explain the game’s basics. So it is only important that you log in on 40 different days before autumn. It does not have to be done consecutively.
Additionally, there are further useful rewards such as the new Tuvala equipment on the Season servers, which facilitate the entry into the game.

More events for faster leveling: From June 18 to various dates in July, events will take place that will provide you with special coins and additional XP scrolls, provided you play for at least 60 minutes one day.
Moreover, until July 1, the Mysterious Knight will appear at various locations, an NPC that also grants you increased XP for 180 minutes when you talk to him.
With all these buffs, it should be easy for you to reach a high level in a short time. You can also find some tips in MeinMMO’s BDO leveling guide.
Seasons already successful in Korea
Do the Seasons work in BDO? In March, the developer Pearl Abyss announced that Black Desert was able to increase its player numbers by 171% and the number of newcomers rose by 168%.
One reason for this was the Season servers, which have drawn new interest to the MMORPG.
However, the servers are also of interest to us in the West. Over 200,000 players had already created a Season character in advance of the event (via reddit).
Are players leveling perhaps too quickly there? An intriguing question surrounding the Season servers is how well players can catch up. Because in Black Desert there is no max level, and the first Season in Korea is still running.
This has also been addressed by YouTuber CarbotAnimations in a small parody that was sponsored by Black Desert Online itself:
It will be interesting to see if veterans can use the servers to surpass already advanced players. It was not until March that RisingSun, the first European, a German, reached level 66. We from MeinMMO spoke with him back then about his reasons and his attitude towards Black Desert.
