Hard to believe, but a McDonald’s customer has put a simple Chicken McNugget up for sale online, and now it’s worth nearly $40,000. This is because it looks like a little character from Among Us.
What is this Nugget? A McDonald’s customer known as Polizna on eBay ordered a BTS meal (a promotional item for a K-Pop band) from the local branch. The meal also included a few Chicken Nuggets. However, one of them seemed strange to the customer.
The piece of battered chicken formed into a shape looked a bit different. It had two protrusions that resembled legs and was otherwise quite simply oval-shaped. Polizna quickly realized where he had seen this shape before: in the successful deduction game Among Us!
Among Us Chicken Nugget is worth nearly $40,000!
What happened next? More as a joke than a serious offer, Polizna listed the nugget on eBay for 99 cents. What happened next was probably beyond his wildest dreams. Because the little piece of chicken ended up receiving over 150 bids and its value increased manifold.
From a former $0.99, it is now (as of June 2, 2021) worth $40,100! And there is no end in sight, as the auction will end on June 3rd and still has about a day left. It’s quite possible that by then, $50,000 or more will be raised for the nugget.
What exactly the bidders want to do with the nugget is unclear. However, Polizna states in the product description that he will ship the item before the expiration date. He also mentions that he will freeze the nugget and vacuum-pack it before shipping to preserve its freshness and edibility.
Sauce is included for free: And since it was pointed out via Twitter that it should ideally be delivered with Szechuan sauce for this price, Polizna stated that he would provide such a dip for free upon request. Bon appétit!
