The Kuruma is one of the best armored cars in GTA 5 Online. But there are better ones. For me, this solid piece of steel has a fixed place in my lineup of favorite cars. Why?
What is the Kuruma? The Karin Kuruma is available for purchase in GTA Online in both normal and armored versions. Players who have been gaming for a few years will recognize this vehicle as a “Heist” vehicle.
For many, including myself, the Kuruma has been the perfect choice for missions and heists for years. It is heavily armored, making it nearly immune to enemy fire in this rolling fortress – unless they’re shooting rockets.
Over the past few years, however, GTA Online has released better armored cars, such as the Paragon R or the Duke o’ Death. They all have their individual advantages, but I just love the Kuruma.

How does the Kuruma perform? There are advantages in the armored Kuruma that other cars either lack or do not provide as well. This includes the thick armor on the front and side windows.

The Paragon R cannot be purchased. You receive it as a reward for completing all 6 Casino missions as a host for free.
How fast is the Kuruma? In a direct speed comparison, the Kuruma stands no chance against the other two contenders. The fastest of the three cars is the Paragon R, followed by the Duke o’ Death and then the Kuruma.
Why do I always like to use the Kuruma?
This is what makes the Kuruma great: Through this introduction, you know that the Kuruma is not the fastest. For GTA standards, it is relatively inexpensive to acquire but does not look like a top-tier car at first glance.
However, the handling is easy to get used to. After a few runs, you will know how to maneuver this heavy vehicle safely around corners without spinning out of control.
Its 4 seats behind the thick armor make the Kuruma a great advantage in group sessions. Having extra space is helpful when players do not yet have their own armored cars during heists or missions, or when groups simply want to stick together. The Kuruma has an advantage over other vehicles in this class with its 4 seats. An armored vehicle that even offers 9 seats is the Insurgent Pickup Custom.
The fact that it is nearly bulletproof is one of the most important advantages of the Kuruma for me.
Whether in missions like “A Job for a Titan” or during heists, I always find this car useful. It is just convenient to stand in enemy fire with this “tank” and take it all while slowly but surely taking out opponents with headshots. Among the 12 ways to earn a lot of money quickly in GTA Online in 2020, it has been my constant companion.
Additionally, I’ve been playing GTA Online for several years now, and the Kuruma was one of the first vehicles I purchased. I’ve gotten so used to the matte black bunker on wheels that I prefer it over other faster armored cars now.
I know several veterans who feel the same way. Somehow, the car has definitely secured a place in my heart.
Conclusion – The Kuruma stays!
Although there are certainly better armored cars to choose from for various scenarios in GTA Online, I still opt for the Kuruma.

- Is solidly armored
- Doesn’t let beginners die as passengers
- Great help in missions and heists
- Has a place in the hearts of veterans
