World of Warcraft just got a new shop mount. Long-term subscribers get it for free and can take off directly.
It has now become a rhythm for Blizzard to implement a new mount in the World of Warcraft shop about every six months. This has happened again, as a new “Scrap Dragon” can now be purchased. However, those who have been loyal to WoW for a long time will receive the mount for free and do not need to pay anything.
What kind of mount is this? The Steamscale Incinerator is clearly a dragon, albeit an unusual one. Instead of hatching from an egg, it was built by the Mechagnomes, who assembled it from various scrap and parts. It is clearly a mechanical mount, which you can see here in the video:
How much does the mount cost? Those who want to buy the Steamscale Incinerator directly must pay €25 in the shop. However, it can also be purchased as usual using WoW Tokens, which is the exchange of gold for currency for the Battle.net account.
However, those who are existing subscribers and currently have an active 6-month subscription or are signing up for one now will receive the Scrap Dragon as a gift and should be able to redeem it in the “Gifts” section of the Battle.net account. Then the mount will be waiting for you in the game upon your next login. As a “subscription bonus,” the mount is available only until August 11, after which it can only be obtained through the shop.

Why does Blizzard release these mounts? For Blizzard, the mounts are a good way to keep players engaged with World of Warcraft long-term and to maintain active subscriptions even during content droughts. At the same time, it is a nice, passive reward for loyal players who already maintain a permanent subscription to WoW.
