Since the end of March, Diablo 4 has been available on Game Pass, thus expanding its player base. The community is gathering tips for players who are new to the game and want to prepare for Season 4 on Reddit.
On March 28, Diablo 4 joined Game Pass and brought many new players into the world of Sanctuary. Many of them seem to be wondering why Diablo 4 is considered so bad among hardcore fans, especially compared to Last Epoch. They received hundreds of responses on Reddit.
In another Reddit post, the community is collecting helpful tips for those who are new to Diablo 4 through Game Pass. Season 4 starts in May, so players have some time to prepare.

What you should complete before Season 4
What should you accomplish before Season 4? On Reddit, the user “SagyBagy” wrote a kind of “guide” on April 1 for all players who came to Diablo 4 through Game Pass. He provides the following tips:
- Finish the campaign: He strongly recommends playing through the campaign at least once. The last quarter of the campaign has many great cutscenes. He played the final phase multiple times without skipping it while helping others. The art team did a fantastic job. You must play at least the prologue if you want to skip the campaign.
- Collect Lilith Statues: While you walk or ride through Sanctuary, you will encounter statues of Lilith. You can find these in all areas. Interacting with them will permanently improve one of your primary attributes – and this applies to all your characters.
- Complete your character’s glory: On the world map, you have access to region progress. There you can see how many activities you have completed in the respective region and what rewards you have received. When creating a new character, perhaps in a subsequent season, you can claim bonuses and thus have a little progress already.
- Enable tooltip settings: He also advises in his post to enable tooltips in Diablo 4 to see the attributes of items and how attributes on equipped items compare. With the tooltip comparison, you also get to see which values / affixes you lose or gain when you change your gear.
- Use build guides: The user writes that players should not hesitate to use websites for build guides. There are helpful builds and descriptions of how the synergies between the skills work. This allows you to adapt them to your playstyle or personal preferences.
In the comments, a user notes that one should team up with friends if they play Diablo 4. This makes it “less like work and more like hanging out.” Someone notes that the game misses social features for this. Players have criticized this for a long time.
