Saintone is the second largest Twitch streamer for Lost Ark and has been playing the MMORPG almost daily since its release in Korea. He now admits that at some point, you just can’t have a life if you want to take off in Lost Ark, sparking a discussion. We at MeinMMO summarize.
Who is Saintone? Saintone is one of the largest Twitch streamers on the platform. He has been regularly streaming content from the MMORPG since Lost Ark’s release in Korea and has gained even more viewers with its release in the West.
- He is also considered an expert for the game and is responsible for some of the best builds. Furthermore, he runs a wiki for Lost Ark that basically contains all the important information a player needs.
- On Twitch, he streams his gameplay experience to an average of 2,795 viewers and has generated almost 140,000 followers, making him currently the second-largest streamer for Lost Ark (via sullygnome).
- He is also active on YouTube, although very irregularly, and explains to you the story and other important topics in Lost Ark. The “Understanding Lost Ark” series summarizes complex topics briefly and understandably and is especially suitable for beginners.
What does the streamer say? In one of his streams, a viewer writes to him that he must stop playing Lost Ark to have a real life. Saintone addresses this and initially tries to downplay the statement.
After these attempts at explanation, he concedes to the commenter and confirms: “Over time, Lost Ark becomes more and more of a time sink if you play it long enough, to the point where you… yes, practically have no life anymore.”
He has also already played the new continent you see in the video during his stream:
Simply far too many characters
Why does Lost Ark consume so much time? Saintone explains this as well. He describes the time required by the MMORPG as an ongoing problem of Lost Ark. He further states that some people actually consider it good, but many do not.
However, one fact is that you simply get more and more to do. The tasks you can complete daily and weekly are simply increasing in number, Saintone explains. This is mainly because the game gives you a Powerpass every now and then, allowing you to instantly boost a new character to endgame.
“Over time, your roster keeps growing. You get more and more side characters and receive power passes, creating the feeling that you should use them.”

Tip for new players: In his other videos and streams, he therefore advises new Western players to play Lost Ark at their own pace. You should take your time and simply enjoy the game.
The mechanics that repeatedly give you the feeling of missing out on important things should be ignored as much as possible. This is not only stated by Saintone, but it’s a point that several Lost Ark experts mention when asked for the best tip for beginners.
Discussion in the community – “My life consists only of working and Lost Ark and I like that”
How does the community react? An excerpt from the stream managed to gather 85 comments in a few days, with some stating that it is not true at all. However, many agree that Lost Ark simply consumes an enormous amount of time, but then debate whether this is good or bad.
Many users report from their own experience with Lost Ark and explain how they come to their standpoint. A few people even say that they have less and less to do the longer they play and cannot relate to the streamer’s argument.
We would like to share some of the comments with you so that you can form your own opinion. They come from a YouTube clip that showcases a segment from the stream.
- Yuki writes: “I can relate to that. My life currently consists only of home office and Lost Ark and going out with the dog a few times. I like that and I hope it doesn’t change for a while.”
- Emilgod says: “Lost Ark is a master at making you fear missing out. All the things you get as gifts, the events, the rest bonus […] I love the game, but yes, I can understand that people see Lost Ark as a lifestyle and become super dependent on it.”
- Bacon Muffin writes: “Funny, my experience is exactly the opposite. After my 6th character, I just didn’t care about new ones anymore. I only took care of the ones I liked the most.”
- zijjca writes: “I feel exactly the opposite. The longer I play Lost Ark, the less I have to do. I no longer do dailies, no chaos dungeons or guardian raids. I don’t have to do all those islands anymore either, I already have all the souls. I really like my current rhythm, but I felt like I was on the verge of burnout for the last few months.”
What is your experience with Lost Ark? Do you still play daily? Are you spending more time in the MMORPG, or less? Feel free to let us know in the comments here on MeinMMO.
The also large Lost Ark streamer ATK says by the way: “There are no bad classes, you just play poorly.”
