In World of Warcraft, the Timewalking dungeons for WotLK are active. You can now even play the Ulduar raid and receive powerful items there. We show you why this is good.
What is Timewalking? On December 30, 2020, the new Timewalking feature with dungeons and a raid started in World of Warcraft. You can now sign up for WotLK instances and play them with your group. Ulduar also opens its gates again. Although you could already play these instances, now you will be scaled to your maximum level 60 according to the contents and can play them “properly”.
Until Tuesday, January 5, 2021, you can participate in this event. Such events always return to WoW. These Timewalking events occurred in 2020.
Ulduar with Nostalgia Factor
What is special? The Ulduar raid from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion has been adjusted for you to make raiding worth it. Ulduar was originally opened in 2009.
As loot, you can get items at item level 200. So if you have not progressed far in Shadowlands yet or are looking for a way to equip your alts with 200 items, you now also have the chance in this raid.
The raid has the difficulty level “normal”. You can participate starting at level 30.
- Raids of 1 to 30 players can participate
- The raid will scale according to group size
- Your items and level will be adjusted for the raid
- In the dungeon browser, you can search for players under “organized groups”
- Travel to Dalaran in Northrend to start the Timewalking version of Ulduar with Vormu
- If you prefer dungeons, you can participate in WotLK instances through the dungeon browser using “random Timewalking dungeon”
- The dungeons available are:
- Gundrak
- Ahn’Kahet: The Old Kingdom
- The Halls of Lightning
- The Nexus
- Utgarde Keep
- The Pit of Saron
Is it worth it? Participating in the Ulduar raid gives you items at item level 200. Moreover, you can find popular items like the Eye of the Broodmother there.
There is a quest for the Ulduar raid (Disruption Detected: Ulduar) that rewards you with 500 Timewalking badges (Timeworn Badge) upon completion (killing Yogg Saron).
In Oribos, you will find another quest for the old content. This requires you to complete 5 Timewalking dungeons. For completion, you receive 500 Timeworn badges, as well as an item from Castle Nathria (normal difficulty).
For the Timeworn badges, you can buy items like a mount, toys, reputation items, or equipment pieces from the vendor in Dalaran.
This content is especially worthwhile for players who enjoyed dungeons or Ulduar in WotLK. Although the bosses in Ulduar behave somewhat differently, the nostalgia factor is present. Together, you will tackle the boss strategies that you had to learn a few years ago.
