A small change in World of Warcraft has big consequences for players who have accumulated a lot of artifact power in recent weeks. We reveal what is changing.
For a while now, many players have reached the current maximum of level 50 with the Heart of Azeroth. Some clever players used the Paragon chest systems to quickly utilize large amounts of artifact power with the release of Patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara. This opportunity has now been toned down.
What was the case before? Currently, the Paragon reward chests give a large amount of artifact power – namely 2,500 each – in addition to gold, war resources, and sometimes toys or recipes when opened. This is among the largest amounts one can get at once. Therefore, some players have accumulated 6 Paragon chests (one for each reputation faction) and raised their reputation to a maximum of 19,999, so they could practically get two more chests immediately.
Thus, they have a “surplus” of 45,000 artifact power that they wanted to redeem immediately with Patch 8.2.
This is now changing: In the future, there will be no more artifact power from the Paragon reward chests. Instead, the artifact power will be credited directly when redeeming the quest. It can no longer be “stored” in the chests and will be added directly to the Heart of Azeroth. As a result, the range of artifact power players can save is smaller.
What does this mean? For players who have accumulated many chests in anticipation of Patch 8.2, this means a loss of up to 15,000 artifact power. Since collecting artifact power will be important again in Patch 8.2 to unlock the new abilities of the Heart of Azeroth , many players are now upset.
Do you think this change is good and sensible? Or should Blizzard have announced such an adjustment in advance? Are you affected by this issue?
