PC gamers with the Ryzen 3000 CPU from AMD currently cannot play Destiny 2 with the expensive new processor. The manufacturer has apparently identified the error. A fix is expected to bring relief in the form of a BIOS update soon.
This should please many PC gamers: As AMD announced, they have identified the problem that prevents Destiny 2 on PC from working with the new Ryzen 3000 processor generation – just like numerous Linux applications. The company shared this in a statement to their motherboard partners.
Here’s how they plan to solve the problem: Now that the cause has been determined, a solution is already in place. They have already sent a new BIOS code to the motherboard manufacturers.
These manufacturers are now working on corresponding BIOS updates that are supposed to fix the error for affected Ryzen 3000 owners as soon as they are delivered.
When will the problem finally be fixed? That should happen soon. AMD says they expect customers will have access to the updates in the coming days.
What was the issue with the incompatibility? AMD’s Ryzen 3000 is a long-awaited and highly praised new CPU for PCs based on 7nm technology. The new processor line was only recently released on July 7.
However, players who have purchased the new Ryzen 3000 report that they cannot play Destiny 2. The game doesn’t even start. Essentially, everyone who upgraded their PC and invested in the expensive new hardware has lost access to the game – much to the frustration of many Guardians.
This should finally be resolved in the next few days.
