The time has come: The first season in the post-apocalyptic online game Fallout 76 is on the starting line. You can expect a board game with exciting challenges and many rewards.
What does the first “Fallout 76” season offer? The entire season, which comes with the Fallout 76 Update 20, is designed like a board game called “The Legendary Race.” You will face various challenges in the online game Fallout 76, with progress recorded on the board game. Completing a challenge advances your game piece on the board.
In the board game, the goal is to reach the finish line faster as Captain Cosmos than the sinister Dr. Zorbo. So it’s a game within a game.
What challenges await you? There are several daily and weekly challenges you will face. These include:
- Recycling junk to obtain a specific resource
- Crafting ammunition at a workbench
- Having a photoshoot in photo mode with flashy outfits
Each completed challenge rewards you with S.C.O.R.E. points. Collect these points to gradually climb through 100 ranks.
Can you buy ranks? Yes. Starting July 14, Bethesda will unlock the option for you to purchase a rank for 150 atoms.

What do you gain by climbing the ranks? Each rank advancement rewards you with exciting rewards. And every ten ranks bring something special. These include:
- In-game currency
- Skill card packs
- Atoms
- Lunchboxes with +25% XP for you and players nearby, as well as a random social buff
- Ammunition converter that converts ammunition into a type you can use
- Vault-Tec resource packs with useful materials
- Fireworks
- Cosmetic items such as weapon skins
When does the season start? Bethesda has not yet announced a specific time, but Update 20 for Fallout 76 is expected to be released on June 30 around 4 PM for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, just as has been the case with previous updates.

How long does the season last? Bethesda explains that the first of three seasons ends in mid-September. A specific date has not yet been provided.
