Streamer Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler (14) captivates not only with her great performance in Fortnite, but also with her personality. Why is Ewok so popular?
Who is Ewok? Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler is a 14-year-old girl who streams on the Mixer platform. What sets her apart from many streamers is her congenital deafness.
In Fortnite, Ewok plays strongly even though she cannot hear her opponents. Only the sound visualizer indicates to her when an opponent is nearby.
How successful is the young streamer? Ewok started small on Twitch, but was then hosted by streamer TimTheTatman, one of the top 5 streamers on Twitch, and quickly gained widespread fame on Twitch and in the Fortnite community.
The professional eSports clan FaZe has signed her. She is thus the first female member of the clan.
On Twitch, Ewokttv reached 284,835 followers.
However, in November 2019 Ewok switched streaming platforms and is now seen on Mixer. There she has over 120,000 followers.
At the 2019 Golden Joystick Awards, the 14-year-old won the award for Best New Streamer.

Regarding her deafness, Ewok has a rather dark sense of humor. She seems to prefer to take her handicap with humor rather than pitying herself.

“No, even better. I was born with noise-canceling, built-in headphones.”
