Those who signed up early for the beta of WoW Classic may not necessarily gain access to the beta. Blizzard has clarified this.
The beta of World of Warcraft Classic is in full swing, but only a few players have been invited. Frustration is spreading among fans because they have not received access. Many reasons are provided here as to why they should be granted access, such as signing up very early for the beta.
We have explained how to sign up for the beta of WoW Classic here.
Blizzard has once again laid out what can lead to beta access and, especially, what cannot.
No privilege for early sign-up: Community Manager Bornakk stated in the official forum that the sign-up time for the beta has no influence on whether one gets invited. There is no “first come, first served” rule for this beta. Instead, other factors would be taken into account, such as the account’s standing duration or whether the player currently has a subscription for World of Warcraft.
Only a few beta invitations left: At the same time, Bornakk explained that the current invitations for the closed beta are “rapidly decreasing,” as Blizzard now has enough players to meet the current testing requirements.
Those who have not received an invitation to the closed beta so far should not expect it in the coming days.
Maybe more invitations in the future: Bornakk also noted that Blizzard continually reassesses whether more players are needed in the beta. It is therefore at least possible that Blizzard will send out beta invitations again. However, it currently seems unlikely that this will happen outside of stress tests.
Are you in the beta of WoW Classic? Or were you “only” invited to the stress test? Or did you not receive either of the two invitations? Do you think it’s good how Blizzard distributes the invitations?
