We asked you which new MMOs and expansions you are most looking forward to in 2019. Here are the results from the MeinMMO readers’ poll.
The year 2019 will be hot: several new MMOs will either be running their first beta tests or go live directly. Especially among MMORPGs, there will be many newcomers like Crowfall and Lost Ark, which will have to compete against expansions of existing big games like Final Fantasy XIV and The Elder Scrolls Online.
Here are the new MMO games that the readers of MeinMMO are most looking forward to.
Anthem has the highest expectations in 2019

With 29.67%, Anthem has won first place among the users of MeinMMO. The loot shooter from BioWare raises high expectations with its impressive graphics, cool gameplay, and the promise of no loot boxes or P2W microtransactions.
Anthem was also stated as the number one by many users in the comments. User huhu_2345 wrote:
Just like Destiny, the setting of [Anthem] simply offers more room for ideas and doesn’t have to have a “more realistic” approach like The Division.
With new trailers and information, BioWare is fueling the hype for next week. Because on January 25th, the long-awaited VIP demo kicks off. The pre-orderers of the game will not only play it themselves but will also bring their friends along and be able to get a picture of the game together with them.
The Division 2 takes second place

Although it stands far behind Anthem in the survey, The Division 2 still managed to reach second place with 13.42%. Also the date of the beta test is set here and Ubisoft is now also releasing more gameplay material for the game. This week, the developers showcased two new trailers:
- In the first, the story of The Division 2 was put in the spotlight
- The second trailer presented the three different Dark Zones
Lost Ark comes in third place

Lost Ark takes third place with 10.43%, just ahead of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. The new isometric MMORPG from Korea has drawn quite a bit of attention in the past year 2018. It has been in open beta since September, and the feedback from players has been overwhelmingly positive so far.
In 2019, Lost Ark plans to expand into the West starting with Russia, where it will be taken over by the publisher Mail.ru. When and by whom the launch will be handled here remains unknown. Fans in Germany will have to be patient for a while.
Lost Ark ahead of all other MMORPGs, FFXIV beats ESO
Surprises in the voting: The Korean free-to-play MMORPG Lost Ark unexpectedly landed in third place above big AAA names like Final Fantasy XIV and The Elder Scrolls Online. Normally, the keywords “Korean” and “free-to-play” raise alarm bells among Western players because such games often rely on strong monetization and cash shops.
But with Lost Ark, the hopes seem high that a new MMORPG is actually coming that has something to offer.

Final Fantasy XIV was just ahead of Elsweyr from The Elder Scrolls Online with its new expansion “Shadowbringers”. However, the fans did not know at the time of the survey exactly what the next chapter of ESO would be about. Therefore, it is quite possible that the result would look different now.
The top 10 of the MeinMMO users:
- Anthem – 29.67%
- The Division 2 – 13.42%
- Lost Ark – 10.43%
- Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers – 9.18%
