On January 25, 2019, the VIP demo of Anthem will start. We at Mein-MMO wondered which of the four Javelins you will play.
What are Javelins anyway? Javelins are special, futuristic combat suits that players in Anthem will wear. They are comparable to playable classes in other online games.
There are a total of four:
- Ranger: The all-rounder among the Javelins. It stands out with versatility and a large arsenal of different weapons. It also has grenades and a light rocket launcher that can use various projectiles.
- Colossus: The Colossus is the tank among the Javelins. It can use flamethrowers, grenade launchers, and other heavy artillery.
- Storm: The Storm is like the mage of Anthem. It hovers mainly above the action and supports the group from above with dangerous elemental attacks.
- Interceptor: The agile Interceptor is considered the assassin of Anthem. It is equipped with dual daggers and has several melee attacks. However, it is also dangerous with firearms, as it moves faster than the other Javelins.
In the finished game the player starts with the Ranger but can then gradually switch freely between the four variants.

We want to know from you: Which Javelin do you want to play?
This is how you make your choice in the demo: You start at level 10 and automatically begin with the Ranger Javelin. Additionally, you select another Javelin that you want to test.
In connection with the demo’s start, we are now launching a survey. Which Javelin do you want to test? Prefer the Colossus, which handles heavy weapons? Or the nimble Interceptor, which excels in melee attacks and high speed?

When does the demo start? The demo runs from January 25 at 18:01 until January 27 at 03:01 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. However, you will need Xbox Gold or PS Plus. You can also invite friends to the VIP demo here. In addition, you must have pre-ordered Anthem.
Those who do not want to pre-order can instead play the Open Demo. This runs from February 1 at 18:01 until February 3 at 03:01 on all platforms. Here you can find more information about the demos:
