What is it about? The premise of Dragon Ball Daima is similar in some ways to Dragon Ball GT. This time, however, it is the antagonist from the demon realm, King Gomah, who wishes for Son Goku and his friends to turn back into mini versions.
Meanwhile, God Dende is also kidnapped, who has been turned back into a baby. To undo the wish and save Dende, Son Goku and his friends enter the demon realm. On his journey, he also meets Glorio and Panzy and befriends them.
Why is the anime in this position? Daima is the newest series and the last anime project that was worked on by the creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama. It was released in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball.
The fact that the series plays again with the idea of shrinking Son Goku and this time also his friends feels a bit worn out after GT. However, Daima has some of the best animations we have seen in martial arts scenes in Dragon Ball.
There are no brightly colored AI attacks or special effects, which shifts the focus to the fluid combat animations. The world-building in Daima is also impressive. Unfortunately, the anime is quite short with 20 episodes, and there seems to be no continuation planned.
