World of Warcraft now offers 12 different classes with varying playstyles and roles. MyMMO wants to know from you: Which one is your favorite?
Since the Demon Hunter was introduced as a new class with Legion, you can choose from twelve classes in WoW – and it seems this will remain the case for a while since the leaked Tinkerer will not be in the new expansion Shadowlands.
Each class has its advantages and disadvantages as well as between two and four (usually three) specializations. Some can tank or heal, while others serve as supporters in fights for specific features that only they bring. And there is a constant competition for the top spot in the DPS ranking for the current raid.
We now want to know from you which of the twelve classes is your absolute favorite. It doesn’t matter whether you play it yourself or not. It’s all about which classes you like to play or would play (if the raid doesn’t force you to play Warlock).
Classic players are also invited to participate. But please keep in mind that the limited selection of nine classes in Classic does not have to limit your choice.
What classes are there?
Although you certainly know your favorite class inside and out, we will briefly list all classes here again, sorted by armor class and alphabetically so you don’t forget any:
Cloth Wearers
- Warlock – Demon summoners and Chaos Lords, known and loved primarily for soul and healthstones.
- Mage – The quintessential spell class and one of the strongest damage dealers in Patch 8.3 of Battle for Azeroth.
- Priest – Clerics who can either heal with the light or deal damage through the power of shadow.
Leather Wearers
- Druid – Masters of shapeshifting and skilled in every form of combat, whether as tank, healer, melee, or ranged DPS.
- Demon Hunter – The newest class from Legion has only two specializations and starts (still) at level 98. With Shadowlands, they also start at level 1.
- Monk – Agile and helpful fighters who can tank, heal, and deal damage.
- Rogue – Pirates and poisoners who create havoc and death with all sorts of blades. Can also sneak excellently or are simply invincible.
Chain Wearers
- Hunter – Experts in handling animals and bows, often used for tasks with a lot of movement no other ranged fighter wants to take.
- Shaman – Servants of the elements, reserved for the Horde during Classic times, but opened for both factions since Burning Crusade.
Plate Wearers
- Warrior – Tough fighters in heavy plate armor, who can fight with a two-handed weapon, two two-handed weapons, or a shield.
- Paladin – Holy fighters of the Light in heavy plate armor who combine the properties of priests and warriors.
- Death Knight – Undead fighters who serve the Lich King and start at a higher level like Demon Hunters, at least until Shadowlands.

Nine of the classes mentioned here have been around since the release of World of Warcraft Vanilla in 2007. They are also playable in the 2019 newly released Classic version of WoW along with their advantages and disadvantages.
