We want to create a ranking of the most popular Alliance Raids in Final Fantasy XIV. Join us and tell us which one is your favorite.
Here’s what it’s about: One of the endgame activities in MMORPGs is the large raids designed for many players. Final Fantasy XIV also features such raids. They are considered the pinnacle of PvE.
The largest of these raids are called “Alliance Raids” because they consist of an alliance, meaning 3 groups of 8 people each. They are also referred to as 24-man raids. Like most combat content in the endgame, these instances are spectacularly staged. They tell their own stories and provide players with powerful gear and upgrade materials.
So far, there are 4 major Alliance Raids in FFXIV, one per expansion:
- The Crystal Tower was the first 24-man raid in Final Fantasy XIV and told the story of the Allagan Empire and its downfall.
- In the “Shadow of Mhach” raid, a mysterious airship appeared in the sky during the Heavensward expansion. Players explored it and learned more about the great Mage War between Amdapor and Mhach.
- In the Return to Ivalice, players traveled to the east of Hydaelyn, where they sought out the destroyed land of Rabanastre and uncovered a century-old secret.
- YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse is the latest 24-man raid in FFXIV and takes place in the first shard world. There, the Dwarves Anogg and Konogg discover strange ruins in the mountains, where even stranger machines lurk.
