Since January 8, 2026, new content from Patch 1.2 for Where Winds Meet has been released on a regular basis. MeinMMO reveals which highlight features you can look forward to today.
Update January 22, 2026: A new region, “Nine Mortal Ways Base,” opens its gates today. The accompanying instance, Mistveil City, is set to follow on January 23. A post by the developers on X provides initial impressions of the new area:
Update from January 15, 2026: Today, the puzzle cave “Mistveil Prison” opens its doors as new content. The developers have also added two new features:
- With the quest replay option, you can replay quests from the main story in Qinghe and Kaifeng, as well as various Lost Chapter quests (source: X).
- In online mode, it is now more worthwhile to team up with other players. You can open chests, solve puzzles, and more together (source: X).
Original announcement for Patch 1.2: The new update for Where Winds Meet will be released today, on January 8, 2026. The following innovations are included:
- The next story campaign in Kaifend as well as the so-called Legacy Quests
- The world boss “Nameless General”
- The event “Jianghu Martial Games”
On X, the developers announced last night that the first two bosses of the new endgame challenge Hero’s Realm are live. The raid battles against Twin Lions and Ghost Master are aimed at 10-player hero groups level 71 or higher. It helps that the level cap in solo mode has now increased to level 10.

Roadmap January 2026 for Where Winds Meet
What else is planned? The developers of Where Winds Meet had already published a roadmap for the entire January in December 2025 – the contents of Patch 1.2 will be released in phases. For the period after January 8, 2026, the following contents are planned:
- January 15, 2026: The puzzle cave “Mistveil Prison”
- January 16, 2026: Pre-season for guild battles begins
- January 22, 2026: The new region “Nine Mortal Ways Base” opens
- January 25, 2026: New story “Whispers beneath the Moon” goes live
- January 29, 2026: The events “Year of Abundance” and “Season-End Dash” start
What makes Where Winds Meet special? Although Where Winds Meet is available for free download and is also available for mobile devices alongside PC and PS5, it is indeed a highly ambitious AAA project.
Whether graphic, story presentation, combat choreographies, or detail level of the world … in the most important aspects, Where Winds Meet does not need to shy away from full-price titles. On the contrary: The game world is enriched with a variety of ideas and details that you won’t find in the same form and combination in any other game.
An example of this is right at the beginning the character editor, which can even include a photo of you and your voice upon request. You can even record dances and immortalize them as emotes in the game. And such special features can be found in almost every area of the game.
