There are finally new details about the launch of the solo mode of the current Hearthstone expansion “Conspiracy of Shadows”. We have the details for you.
The latest expansion “Conspiracy of Shadows” of Hearthstone has been live for a month now, so many players are probably experiencing a bit of boredom. In particular, the fact that the solo mode is still not available weighs heavily on many players.
Now Blizzard has finally announced the release plans and provided more details on how the campaign of “Conspiracy of Shadows” will unfold.
Release next week: The new expansion will launch after a long wait next week on May 16, 2019. Players can then begin for free in the first wings of the expansion.
Five new wings, two at launch: As has been customary in previous expansions, “The Great Heist” will be released in several stages. At launch, there will be the first wing (free), while the second can be purchased and played immediately afterwards. The following wings will be added in the coming weeks, so the conclusion of the entire adventure will take a while.
What does the adventure cost? Those who want to buy all wings individually will pay either 700 gold pieces or 7 € per wing. Alternatively, all four wings can be purchased for 20€, saving about 8 €. Note that wings 3, 4, and 5 will only be playable in the following weeks.
New features and possibilities: In principle, the new adventure is based on the “Dungeon Run” adventures of previous expansions but has more options and additional missions to provide longer gameplay enjoyment. There are:
- New “Events” instead of battles. In the tavern, you can discard unwanted cards and add other cards to the deck.
- Multiple hero abilities that need to be unlocked
- Multiple starting decks that also need to be unlocked
- Special rules in each wing, like minions that automatically join after battles
- Normal and Heroic difficulty
- “Anomaly” mode, which is unlocked at the very end and introduces additional effects, such as “Wild Magic” where each spell is cast a second time on a random target
Basically, it looks like “The Great Heist” will be significantly more extensive than previous solo adventures and offer a greater replay value. Once again, however, the main focus is on the fun of playing, and the rewards in the form of card packs are probably just a nice addition. The focus is on the mode itself and its additional unlockable options.
Whether the long wait was worth it will be revealed next week.
