What happened to Fortnite? Yesterday, the live event in Fortnite took place. The rocket was launched and a black hole sucked everything and everyone in. Since then, the servers have been unreachable and all we see is a black hole.
What happens next with Fortnite?
How long will this event last? Officially, it is still unknown when and how Fortnite will continue. Epic Games has not given any hints or commented on it so far.
There are a lot of speculations circulating about how it could continue. Some players think:
- Fortnite might be over
- Save the World will be free
- It is just a bridge during the downtime, until the next season or Fortnite 2 starts
- Epic wants to maintain the suspense and draw attention to their game
Leaks about the event: The data miner Lucas7yoshi found a file that suggests the event will last until Tuesday. However, shortly after, the date was changed to October 17th. That would be on Thursday.

However, it is hard to believe that Epic would keep the game this way until Thursday. Players could then not play for 4 days.
What does Epic say about the future of Fortnite?
Epic Games has not commented at all on this ongoing event and the future of Fortnite so far. On the official Twitter page of Fortnite, all posts related to Fortnite Battle Royale have been deleted. Only a live stream of the event is still visible on the page.
