In Destiny 2 today, on September 7th, Xur arrives. This is his first visit in Forsaken. Find out here what is new with the Exotic vendor.
Bungie changes Xur: After Xur became a boring, unkempt vendor in Destiny 2, whom hardly any Guardian was interested in, the Agent of the Nine is supposed to regain significance in Forsaken.
When does Xur appear? The developers did not reveal whether and how the time Xur appears changes. We strongly assume that he will visit the Guardians as usual at 7 PM on Friday evening. He certainly did not show up today at 11 AM – his old appointment from Destiny 1.
The Agent of the Nine will become mysterious again. With the changes known so far, Xur is supposed to become “the old Xur” again: A mysterious vendor with poor facial hygiene who brings cool Exotic items.
The specific changes:
Xur will no longer be displayed with a symbol on the map. He will play hide and seek with the Guardians again.
Xur is no longer tied to the Flashpoints. He can appear anywhere in Forsaken. It will take some time to find the Agent of the Nine again. In the first week of Forsaken, the Flashpoint is in the EDZ – so Xur doesn’t necessarily have to be there.
The Fate Engrams now only drop Exotics from Year 1. The new Forsaken Exotics cannot be found in these Engrams.
The “Three of Coins” are no longer available.
Since Exotics in Forsaken have become quite rare, Xur will become more interesting again.
Xur still has his secrets
What do we not know yet about Xur?
Does Xur still appear at 7 PM? Probably, but it has not been officially confirmed yet.
What does Xur’s inventory look like?
Will he stay until the Weekly Reset on Tuesday at 7 PM or leave earlier? Presumably, he will stay until Tuesday, but this has not been confirmed yet.
Xur is a vendor in Destiny who visits the Guardians on certain days and brings Exotic items with him. In Destiny 1, he was a welcomed guest, whose arrival many players eagerly anticipated every week.
In Destiny 2, Xur lost significance, as players were overwhelmed with Exotics from too many sources and completed their collections within a few weeks. Therefore, Xur was no longer needed. The vendor became uninteresting.
