For many FUT players, the Web App is part of the Ultimate Team experience. Moreover, there is another benefit: Bonus rewards can be earned through the apps for a limited time.
What about the download of the Web App for FUT 21? No download is required for the Web App as it is a browser application. The companion app, however, i.e., the FUT 21 app for mobile devices, requires a download via iOS or Android.
When does the FIFA 21 app for Ultimate Team start? Release, start time
When is the release of the FUT 21 Web App? The web app launches on September 30. This has now been confirmed by EA.
When does the companion app start? The companion app is essentially the web app for smartphones. In previous years, it was always available one day after the release of the web app. For FUT 21, it could go live on September 31 based on the date mentioned above.
What time will it start? An official release time has not yet been announced. However, previous years show that a start between 7 PM and 11 PM seems realistic.
When does the FUT 20 Web App end? In FUT 20 and previous versions, the web app of the previous iteration was taken offline a few days before the launch of the new web app. We expect that this will be the case this time as well.

Early Access to the FUT 21 Web App – Rewards for Veterans
This is how you get Early Access: Previously, FUT veterans received Early Access for the web app. We expect that this will not change this year either. This would mean that FUT 20 players will likely be able to start with the FUT 21 web app on September 30. Based on last year, the requirements would look like this:
- You had to create a FUT club in FIFA 20 before August 1.
- This FUT 20 club must be valid until the start of the FUT 21 web app.
- Additionally, your account must have a “good reputation.” That means if you have been banned before or have behaved negatively, you may not receive Early Access.
When would the web app start without Early Access? If you are not FUT 20 veterans, you will only gain access to the web app after you have logged in to FUT 21 for the first time, created your FUT club, and answered a security question. You would have to wait until the release of FIFA 21 on October 9 or obtain early access.
Rewards for returning FUT players in the web app: Every year, EA distributed rewards for FUT veterans in the web app over several weeks. To receive all the rewards, you should log in every day. Something similar is conceivable for FIFA 21.
The features of the FUT 21 app – Trading and innovations
The web app and the companion app have the same features.
These FUT app features are considered safe: You can
- manage your FUT teams and club items
- complete squad-building challenges (SBCs)
- visit the transfer market and buy and sell players and items – that is trading
- check the TOTW (Team of the Week)
- inspect all cards, leaderboards, and other stats
- buy packs in the FUT store (with coins or FIFA Points)
- redeem weekly rewards from squad battles, division rivals, and FUT champions
- share your teams with others via unique URLs
- complete objectives
- create individual tactics for the active FUT team.
- view your progress on the new season objectives. Some objectives can also be checked off directly in the app.
- apply a “SBC protection” on players. This prevents you from accidentally redeeming one of your important players in an SBC.
What innovations does the FUT 21 web app offer? So far, EA has not announced any innovations for the FUT 21 web app. If the developer comments on this topic, this article will be updated as soon as possible.
