The February events of Monster Hunter: World are already in full swing. Some promise cool loot, while others offer special outfits from other games. Towards the end of February, the hunt begins for what many hunters on the PS4 are likely most excited about: the skin of Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn.
One of the special February events in Monster Hunter World is the quest “The Trial,” which will run from February 28th to March 15th. However, the event is exclusive to PS4!
This is the second part of the collaboration event, where you can obtain the outfits from Horizon: Zero Dawn for yourself and your Palico.
Hunt an Anjanath: Event quest is only for hunters of rank 11 or higher!
To be eligible for the trial, you must, according to a tweet from the official MHW Twitter account, have reached at least Hunter Rank 11 by the start of the event. The event begins on February 28th and ends on March 15th.
The objective of the quest is to hunt an Anjanath in the Ancient Forest. Whether it is the standard version of the Anjanath or a special quest Anjanath remains unknown for now. You can read how to slay the Anjanath in our guide: Monster Hunter: World Anjanath Guide – How to defeat the beast
As a reward, you will receive the armor “Aloy” and the weapon “Aloy’s Bow.”
Upon inquiry, Capcom confirmed that Aloy is an armor piece and therefore comes with its own status values.
Your character transforms into Aloy
After defeating the Anjanath, you will receive special blueprints necessary for forging the event items. With the armor, the entire character transforms into the hunter from Horizon: Zero Dawn. This works completely independent of the character’s gender. A male hunter will also be able to assume the appearance of Aloy when wearing the armor.
