When does Witch Queen start? The new chapter will go live on February 22, 2022. Until then, you have some time to complete important things. To ensure a smooth start, we show you 5 things to do before the release.
5 important things you should do
1. Earn all Synthetic Threads from Ada-1
What are Synthetic Threads? This currency allows you to wear armor unlocked in the collection as ornaments. Therefore, you won’t have to run around with ugly armor that has good stats, but can truly dress up your Guardian with your favorite ornaments.
How do I earn them best? The Synthetic Threads are limited to 10 per class per season. To do this, you need to go to Ada-1 in the Tower, which is located in the old black weapons chamber base.
After a short interaction, she will offer you bounties that can be completed in various activities on the side.
Can’t I catch up in Witch Queen? Previous seasons have shown that missed Synthetic Threads do not carry over to new seasons. Therefore, it is to be expected that all missed threads will be lost at the start of the new DLC as well.
2. Make space in the Vault
The controversial topic in the Destiny 2 community: the Vault. Many despise it, yet it is an important part of the game. It’s even better if your storage has been tidied up by the start of the new expansion. So take your time, sort out all unnecessary armor and weapons, and ensure a less stressful looting experience.
3. Unlock ornaments for ritual weapons
What kind of weapon is this? It is the legendary rocket launcher “Hegemony”. You can obtain it during rank-ups in the Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit.
After unlocking, you have the opportunity to collect additional ornaments for this ritual weapon. However, these cannot be unlocked after Witch Queen. So if you want to complete your collection, you should chase these ornaments.
How do I get the new coatings? You just need to increase your rank in the core activities: Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit.
You can do this either by persistently playing the modes or by waiting for the weekly reputation boost. This rotates each week and greatly facilitates leveling up certain activities.
4. Acquire Xûr’s ship
What kind of ship is that? The perhaps strangest ship in the Destiny 2 universe. With this flying meteorite, you can impress even the gods of the Cabal. However, the effort to obtain this gem is substantial. Therefore, the current drought of content is a good opportunity to grab the ship now.
How do I get it? You need to reach rank 16 with Xûr and have 7 treasure keys. You level up by succeeding in the Trials of Eternity. It’s recommended not to do this all at once. It can lead to excitement and frayed nerves.
Instead, take situations where a round of Trials makes sense from time to time. If you meet these requirements, you can go to Xûr’s treasury and open the ship’s chest. After that, you will receive the collectible.
5. Complete mods from past seasons
What will happen with Witch Queen? The notorious Content Vault will soon wreak havoc on Destiny 2 and scoop up some of your beloved content. This includes the chambers of Mara Sov, the Splicer Servitor, the Fallen and Awoken wings in the Helm, and much more.
To avoid missing important mods, you should grab all mods for your collection before that. These may not be obtainable for an unknown time after the release of the DLC.
