Matches in League of Legends can vary significantly in duration. Sometimes a match ends after just a few minutes because one team dominates, and sometimes it lasts over an hour. But what has actually been the longest LoL match so far? We will reveal it to you.
What was the longest LoL match? The answer to that is not so easy. Theoretically, any player can start a match on their own and play indefinitely. However, looking at eSports, there is a clear answer.
The longest match there lasted 94 minutes and 40 seconds. The record was set in January 2018 during the first week of the Korean LCK. At that time, the teams T1 with superstar Faker and Jin Air Green Wings faced off. Numerous records were broken during the match, including:
- The most minion kills in a match was collected by Jin-seong “Teddy” Park with 1,460 CS. He collected nearly 500 more minions than the previous record held by Zven.
- 9 Barons were defeated in a match.
- A total of 355,000 gold was farmed.
However, there were surprisingly few kills. The match ended with a score of 15:8 kills for Jin Air. A score that one often sees in matches lasting 25 minutes.

A Ranked Match Lasted Almost 3 Hours
What records are known? In 2017, the developers responded to the question of what the longest LoL match to date was. They reported on a match in the solo queue that lasted 2:42:28, almost three hours. This took place in Oceania in 2017 (via LoL).
However, this value only applied to the longest match in the last 12 months. It’s quite possible that there was a ranked match in the previous or following years that lasted longer.
What do you think of these times? Did you think that a ranked match could last so long? And what has been your personal record match so far? Feel free to write it in the comments.
