The new Icebrood Saga will be introduced in Guild Wars 2 with a prologue update. So far, we knew that the Charr would play a role, but now many new details are known.
What do we know about the prologue? The update in preparation for the new Living World 5 will be called “Bound by Blood” and will focus on the Charr.
To this end, players will be invited by the Emperor of the Blood Legion to the new area of Grothmar Valley. There, the Charr will celebrate their latest victory over the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik, but at the same time, they will also be struggling with internal conflicts.
In the new area, players can expect a variety of different events and tasks. The highlight will be the burning of a Charr statue, similar to Burning Man.
When will the prologue be released? The new patch will be released on Tuesday, September 17, at approximately 6:00 PM our time.

What tasks await in the prologue? The new content of the update will be structured like a festival. It brings various activities with it:
- The Demolition Derby, where you are to wreck dune rollers.
- A trial in the slime pit, where you will represent one of the legions.
- An event with the smith guardian Santia, where you will need to operate bellows and melt down iron scraps.
- Feeding Charr mouths together with head chef Mellitus
- A military training of Charr youths on helipad platforms.
Furthermore, the Charr Metal Band, which you can already see in the title image, will have its big appearance.

Where do the information come from? The developers of Guild Wars 2 have allowed their creativity to flow in the announcement of the prologue and developed a magazine.
In it, you can read everything about the activities, but also find some lore information, to prepare for the Icebrood Saga.
They summarize the most important events of the story so that returnees and newcomers, for whom now is an extremely good time, can acquire some knowledge.
What do you think of the idea of the magazine? And did you learn something new from it?
