Funcom, known for online games like The Secret World, Conan Exiles, and Age of Conan, has announced a strategy game called Conan Unconquered. However, it offers some unique features.
An unusual strategy game
What is Conan Unconquered? The strategy game is not a regular RTS, but something that the developers refer to as a survival RTS.

- You need to search the game world for resources.
- With the resources, you quickly construct buildings and
defensive structures and train armies to fend off the attacks. - Wave after wave of opponents reach your base, and you fight for your survival.
- Each wave of attacks is stronger than the last.
- You determine in the settings whether there is a limited number of attack waves or whether you fight against an infinite number of enemies for as long as you can.
- Each game plays out differently as the maps are randomly generated.
- You need to act tactically since each type of enemy uses special attacks and has different weaknesses.
RTS experts try something new
What is special about the game? In Conan Unconquered, you can play not only solo but also cooperatively with a friend. Through matchmaking, you can even be assigned random teammates.
It is necessary to proceed strategically together since in cooperative mode the enemies are even more numerous and aggressive. You can only fend off the waves of attacks together.
One player can take care of building new structures and making repairs, while the other leads the armies into battle.
The gameplay principle is somewhat reminiscent of the strategy games They Are Billions and Frostpunk.

Petroglyph is working together with Funcom on the game, which has previously released other titles in the Conan universe, including the MMORPG Age of Conan and the survival game Conan Exiles.
