The MMORPG Pantheon Rise of the Fallen is considered by many fans as the great PvE hope. Now the developers have presented the latest state of the game. Included are a new class and new objectives.
What kind of game is this? The MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen aims to provide a true old-school experience and especially appeal to fans of Everquest and similar games.
Other MMOs like Crowfall offer an extensive PvP experience. These games thrive on battles for special points or large mass battles where players fight against each other.
For many players, a game like Pantheon comes just at the right time, as it promises to appeal to those players who are not particularly interested in PvP or do not wish to compete with others.
Here, quests full of story and dungeons are on the agenda, along with raids that you can only solve with teamwork. The classic “Holy Trinity” of damage dealer, tank, and healer is also present.
But how is the state of the PvE MMORPG, which has been in development for 7 years now? A lot has happened since then, as the developers presented the latest developments in their August newsletter.
August brought Pantheon a new class and many improvements
In the latest newsletter, the developers explain what has been happening in recent weeks (via pantheon.mmo.com).
Several new improvements were added in August:
- The monk class is fully integrated into the game.
- The ranged combat system works as well
- The enemy AI is now also completed
Especially many general systems like the tools for guilds or the group finder have made significant progress. The banking system is also continuously being developed.
What’s next? Pets are on the agenda for the upcoming update. This should please those of you who enjoy running through the game world with companions or like the pet battles from WoW.
Also on the developers’ to-do list are destructible world objects, so places where you can gather resources, and the random spawning of world objects.
The next big project is the overhaul of the system to improve performance.
The next update is expected to bring significant graphical improvements
The overhaul of the backend system is expected to significantly enhance graphics besides improved performance. Because the MMORPG Pantheon is not a beauty so far and cannot compete with other giants. But that is expected to change soon, according to the developers:
As soon as the terrain streaming support is completed, we will immediately begin with the HDRP conversion. These two initial steps together will dramatically improve the game’s performance and the quality of the game aesthetic and allow us to transform our greybox terrain into real terrain. We are, of course, very excited about it!

What does the upgrade bring? With a growing number of alpha testers and upcoming pets, we intend to ensure continued good performance of the game. Because as soon as the technical upgrades are completed, “we will be able to effortlessly support the large number of alpha players ready to enter the ground of Terminus.”

Along with the positive news, the developers also have some bad things to say. Because with the overhaul of the system, some content will also be shifted.
Two eagerly awaited classes are postponed, instead three others will come
These classes are coming later: Due to the technical adjustments, the two classes “Ranger” and “Summoner” will come at a later date. One is a ranged class, and the other is presumably a mage class. When they will exactly come is not yet known. However, it was explained in the post that the development of the classes will continue only after the technical update.
What’s coming instead? The developments in the abilities offer other benefits. Because instead, they now want to bring Cleric, Paladin, and Warrior into the game soon. More information on these classes will follow shortly. When that will be, we cannot tell you yet.
