The development studio Visionary Realms has released a new trailer for the MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. Although it shows little, the fans are excited.
What can be seen in the trailer? The video is 1:06 minutes long. First, we see a group of heroes standing in a forest that creates an atmospheric impression. Then the game’s logo appears, and afterward, we see some players jumping over rocks in a storm in the distance.
Finally a sign of life!
How do the fans react? The trailer doesn’t really show much. Nevertheless, the reactions to it are almost entirely positive. There are several reasons for this:
- Pantheon is highly anticipated among fans of classic MMORPGs. Players are thirsty for new gameplay material
- The video represents a sign of life from the MMORPG, which has been somewhat quiet lately
- What has been shown looks quite atmospheric, especially the lighting effects leave a good impression
What is Pantheon? The MMORPG aims to follow in the footsteps of Everquest 1 and provide a classic online role-playing experience like at the end of the 20th century – albeit somewhat more modern. Group play is the focus. Pantheon is mainly about PvE. Plans for PvP also exist, but PvP is supposed to take place on separate servers.
A long development time
What is the current status of the MMORPG? Pantheon is being developed by a relatively small indie team that has big plans. Accordingly, the development just takes longer. The team also wants to avoid rushing anything and wants to release the game only when it is in good condition. The developers explain that basically, there is only one chance for a release, and that opportunity must simply convince.
The developers are currently still working on Project Faerthale. It is supposed to be a kind of mini-version of the actual MMORPG, a demo. You get a good insight into the game, can try out many systems, and see if you like the entire concept. Project Faerthale has been in development for a while, and the team says they are nearing the finish line.
Whether Project Faerthale will launch in 2019 is currently unclear. However, in 2020 we should definitely get an insight into the MMORPG Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen
