Since the announcement of the release of Lost Ark in the West, there have been concerns within the MMO community about whether the highly anticipated game will be pay-to-win.
The publisher Amazon has previously commented on this issue and emphasized that the shop will be “fair, fun, and completely optional.” Now Lost Ark is available to us, and players can form their own opinions about the shop’s content.
This is the shop of Lost Ark: In the cash shop of Lost Ark, you can purchase a large variety of different items for all situations. There are not only purely cosmetic items but also those that help with progression in the MMORPG.
The following items are available in the shop:
- Premium currencies Royal and Blue Crystals that can be exchanged for the in-game trading currency Gold
- Outfits and Pets that grant status attributes
- Mounts
- Items for housing
- Tickets for completing certain activities (dailies, quests, etc.)
- in limited quantities upgrade items for equipment
- Tickets for additional character slots, name changes, etc.
Additionally, there is the “subscription service” crystalline aura that grants the bearer a buff: more EXP, no teleport costs, more resource points, etc.
With so many contents, opinions about the shop vary. While it is completely okay and fair for some players, others clearly see it as pay-to-win.
