Crafting is a double-edged sword in the MMORPG community. On one hand, there are players who love nothing more than to spend all day collecting materials, creating new gear, and leveling their skills or selling items for a lot of money in the auction house.
On the other hand, there are players who can’t stand crafting. They find it boring and see it as an unnecessary time sink.
Moreover, there are significant differences in crafting systems:
- In some MMORPGs, crafting is more of an optional activity. You can craft useful items, but you get the best items through dungeons or raids.
- In others, you primarily obtain the perfect gear through crafting.
- In many sandbox games, crafting is one of the most lucrative methods to earn money.
