October has started. Soon, the Halloween season will return to Fortnite What can we expect in this year’s Fortnitemares? Here you can see some hints and comparisons to last year’s Halloween event.
Soon it will be spooky again in Fortnite, as Halloween is just around the corner. Every year there is a whole event called Fortnitemares. What will Epic Games bring to Halloween this year?
Update October 20: There are now more leaks and information about Fortnitemares 2020. We have gathered everything we know about the Halloween event in one post.
What was Fortnitemares 2019
What was this event all about? In this event, you could unlock various rewards by completing the Fortnitemares challenges. The highlight was the umbrella you received after defeating the evil Storm King.
During the entire event, a special mode was running where you had to defeat a giant Storm King. A team of 20 players was sent to a small “island” and had to deal damage to the king until he was finally defeated and vanished.
That was a pretty difficult task because the Storm King had a lot of health points. Moreover, you were attacked by horrors that roamed the entire island.
How did the map change for Halloween? The map became dark and foggy. Each Fortnitemares, the map is transformed into a spooky version. You can find well-designed Halloween decorations everywhere.
In Fortnitemares 2019, Epic had a different idea for the horrors that usually roamed the entire map and disturbed players in battles. They were banished to the center of the map and could only be found there.
These were the Halloween skins from Fortnitemares 2019: During the Halloween event, there was almost daily a new spooky skin available for purchase in the item shop. From witch to football player zombies, there were several outfits.
The Skull Trooper celebrated his return with a new style variant. The OG skin, which glows purple, is only for true veterans and is therefore considered one of the rarest skins in Fortnite.
How will Halloween take place this year?
What clues are there already for Fortnite Halloween 2020? This year, Halloween will take place in the middle of Season 4 of Fortnite. Not much is known about an event yet, but it seems likely since there has been a Fortnitemares every year so far.
Although there is no information yet about the event, the first Halloween skins are slowly appearing in the item shop, and suitable outfits have already been leaked by data miners. So far, these skins point to Fortnitemares:
Not only the actual outfits are interesting, but there is another clue hidden in the background. You can actually see the shadows of the monsters that come to the map every year for Fortnitemares.
This wouldn’t be a definite clue, since the scarecrows were announced in the item shop last year with the exact same image. But the right skin is brand new and has never been seen in Fortnite before. But this one also features the monsters in the background. This indicates that the nasty monsters might expect us again this year.
Another Halloween skin leaked: Additionally, data miners found a new outfit in the Fortnite data that would fit perfectly thematically. This is the skin: Victoria Saint, the vampire hunter. She would also be the perfect counterpart to “Blade,” who has joined the Marvel skins in Fortnite.
This is what the skin looks like that is still in the data:
Halloween is slowly entering Fortnite with the first skins and we should keep an eye out for more hints about Fortnitemares 2020. We will keep you informed on MeinMMO as soon as we have more information about a Halloween event.
It remains exciting, because for me, the Fortnitemares 2019 were a huge highlight that I can recommend to everyone. What do you wish for the Halloween event? Are you looking forward to it?
