October has begun. Soon the Halloween season will return to Fortnite. What can we expect in this year’s Fortnitemares? Here are some ideas and comparisons to last year’s Halloween event.
Soon it will be spooky again in Fortnite, as Halloween is approaching. Last year, there was a whole event called Fortnitemares. What will Epic Games bring to the game for Halloween this year?
Fortnitemares 2018 Recap
What was this event? In this event, players could unlock various rewards by completing the Fortnitemares challenges. The highlight of the rewards was the train glider that could be unlocked.
Special Skin for Halloween: Available in the shop for 2000 V-Bucks, there was a Zombie Cowboy Skin. This skin turned into a zombie when enough monsters were eliminated.
How did the map change for Halloween? The map became dark and foggy. There were monsters everywhere, making it difficult for players in combat. Various Halloween-themed decorations were also spread across the map.
Ghosts were hung from street lamps, spider webs were scattered, and spooky pumpkins were placed. The infamous Pumpkin Launcher was also brought back into the game.

Especially the Ghoul Trooper skin is very popular in the community, as it is among the rarest skins. The last time it was available in the shop was in November 2017, almost 2 years ago.
How will Halloween take place this year?
Season 11 with Halloween theme? Season 11 is likely to start next week. Thus, it will take place during Halloween. Could there be a spooky Battle Pass for it?
Whether there will be another event like Fortnitemares is still unknown.
Leaked names for possible Halloween skins: The data miner Hypex found some skin names that could hint at Halloween skins. Some names suggest existing skins, but this time for the opposite gender. Such as a male version of the Ghoul Trooper skin mentioned above.
By looking closely at the names, one can already get a small picture of the skins. The outfits would be:
- A neon-colored Skull Trooper
- A dark teddy bear
- A male version of the Ghoul Trooper
- A Slurp creature
- A modern witch
Community Suggestions for Halloween
What does the community think? In Reddit, several suggestions are already being made regarding the Halloween season in Fortnite. Some players have concrete ideas on how it could all unfold.
Concept for Halloween challenges: The player ialhakak created a concept for Halloween challenges. He came up with some tasks and possible rewards. It looks like this:
