Where does the info come from? In an interview with the US gaming site GameRant, miHoYo, the Chinese developer studio behind Genshin Impact, answered numerous questions about the new coop RPG. Among other things, they also touched upon plans for next-gen consoles.

What’s the status of Genshin Impact on next-gen consoles
This is what the developers say about Genshin Impact on next-gen: Regarding the next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, miHoYo stated that they do indeed have plans for the next-gen consoles. They will announce it as soon as it takes shape.
However, it was also stated according to GameRant that they currently have no plans to release the game on Xbox.
On the PS5, Genshin Impact should be playable through backward compatibility anyway. But apparently, there are also initial plans beyond that. However, whether in the form of a next-gen upgrade or a dedicated PS5 version – that is still not known concretely.
Additionally, the PS5 will likely remain the only next-gen console on which Genshin Impact can be played. It seems that Genshin Impact is neither planned for the current Xbox One nor for the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
The Xbox seems to be the only major platform on which the game does not appear – although miHoYo’s statement does not completely rule that out for the future.
What about a Switch version? Genshin Impact is also confirmed to be coming to Switch. There is even already an official trailer. However, a concrete release date for the Nintendo platform is still pending.

Visually, it strongly reminds many players of Zelda: Breath of the Wild from the Nintendo Switch. However, there are numerous clear differences – not only due to the coop mode.
