In our Easter survey about Anthem, we wanted to know what you think about BioWare’s action RPG. Now we reveal what you wish for the future of the title and where the developers at BioWare definitely need to take action.
What do players wish for? BioWare is currently working on getting Anthem back on track. Bugs are to be fixed, and the loot is to be revised.
Additionally, a test server is planned where players can try out new content before its release.
But do the players wish for that as well? What needs to change in Anthem so that freelancers are satisfied and players who have already set the title aside will return? We wanted to find out in our survey.
This was our survey: During the Easter holidays, we published a survey about Anthem to capture the opinions of MeinMMO readers. First, we wanted to know what you think about the current state of Anthem. Now we reveal what you wish for the future of BioWare’s action RPG.

On average, nearly 2100 of our readers participated in the Anthem survey. Here come your answers about what you think about the future of Anthem and what you wish for the game.
If you stopped playing Anthem: Would you check the game again after a while?
2086 participants answered the question of whether they would check back in on Anthem after a while if they had stopped playing it.
- “Yes, I would check back after about 6 months,” answered 44% of the participants
- 10% would check back after about a year
- 11% would not check back
- 35% of the responses were from “I am still playing”
What do you wish for the future of Anthem the most?
This question apparently occupies our readers, as 2134 participants responded. Here are the results of what our MeinMMO readers wish for the future of Anthem.
- Better loot drops are wished for by 25%
- More story is wanted by 13%
- New items (armor, vinyls, weapons, etc.) are desired by 10% of the participants
- More variation in the activities that already exist (missions, strongholds, events) is desired by 26%
- More entirely new activities are wished for by 19% of you
- More javelins are desired by 2%
- 5% of the participants wish for something else
Conclusion of the survey: Two major insights can be drawn.
- Anthem certainly has a chance for a comeback – many of our readers are ready to give the game a second chance
- but Anthem needs more and varied activities and better reward systems

Andrej Delany says: “What I wish for Anthem:
1. More loot
2. Better loot/better loot system
3. A multitude of strongholds/raids. 4 strongholds are too few!
4. Bug fixes
5. A way to play the next stronghold after one without 4 loading screens and the pointless visit to the base
6. Meaningful crafting”
(Editorial note: The developers have already fulfilled one wish: Forges and missions can now be activated from anywhere, without having to return to Fort Tarsis)
Our reader Tony Ostermann writes: “Fast travel points would be great in free play and a way to not constantly be in the forge or similar after the mission. Also modifications for the javelins that allow for better resource finding and more options to improve the javelins.”
Gibt Nichts writes: “What is missing in Anthem are raids. I notice this more and more lately. As an example Destiny 2: Since September 2018, when it was free on PS+, I have invested over 1000 hours in the world. Most of the time in raids, because they are simply fun, challenging activities that are very rewarding. In Anthem, it’s different. You run the strongholds again and again and again. Every “mechanic” can be done solo, it requires no coordination or anything. And that is what the game lacks in my opinion: the needed coordination to progress.”
Gothsta says: “By now, I’m a bit out of steam. This is relatively normal for me, but I had hoped to be more excited for a longer time. I am now waiting for the Cataclysm event, which could finally come. Otherwise, I will take a closer look at Borderlands 3… Although I can already say that only one of the 4 vault hunters appeals to me.”
Our reader Nomad writes: “I find this discussion completely exaggerated. There are far worse games. My wife and I enjoy playing the game. Yes, there are better games, but flying and fighting are fun. However, we also have no intention of being max gear, max hero, or whatever. So far, we have encountered few bugs or crashes. I have played many games and ‘downgraded’ them, but what is happening here is not deserved by Anthem. I increasingly have the feeling that the negative comments are being “fueled” by the current competition, targeted shitstorming. Sad behavior!”
