The action RPG Warhammer 40k Inquisitor: Martyr places you in the dangerous Caligari sector, where you, as an Inquisitor, must eliminate the unclean. A plethora of monsters from the depths of space will stand in your way.
Fight alone or cooperatively
Martyr allows you to create a hero from the classes Crusader, Death Cult Assassin, and Primaris Psyker. You can specialize each of these three classes into three subclasses, adapting them to your playstyle.
The focus of the title is on a story-driven campaign that you can experience either alone or cooperatively with up to three other players. You will explore the Caligari sector as an open game world and accept missions that lead you to planets, space stations, or the wrecks of gigantic ships drifting in space.
The gameplay of Martyr is somewhat reminiscent of Diablo. You control your hero from an isometric view from above as hordes of monsters confront you in the levels. With your powers, skills, and plenty of weapons, you clear them out of your way. There is much to do:
- You experience a story surrounding the mysterious namesake ship Martyr
- Explore numerous locations
- Complete quests
- Experience a brief, interconnected story through several missions in the “Investigations”
- Master large story events
- Enhance your hero with skills and new equipment
- Tactics matter as you must seek cover in battles and the environment can be destroyed
- In a team, you need to work well together to make the most of your abilities
Release in just a few weeks
Martyr aims to provide variety with randomly generated levels and regularly new content. Furthermore, you can expect a dark and brutal scenario where things get very bloody. An Early Access version is already available and gives you a brief glimpse into the beginning of the game. The release is scheduled for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 11.
