What is this position about? As Head of Video, you will lead a creative, versatile, and talented team that aims to inspire hundreds of thousands of gamers every day.
You will oversee one of the largest editorial gaming channels on YouTube in Europe (with over 1.35 million subscribers!) and be significantly responsible for the further development of our strategy across all video channels.

Videos and livestreams are one of the main pillars of Webedia Gaming’s content strategy and are integrated with all other activities – such as editorial, websites, sales, social media, and community management.
You will be supported by a dedicated team of content creators, hosts, producers, editors, and specialists in video production. As Head of Video, you understand how to balance the creative freedom of the creators with the requirements of deadline-oriented productions.
You are aware that videos are subject to constant change both in content and design, and our audience wants to be surprised and delighted time and again. Therefore, you are not only on the cutting edge of video but also think visionary and future-oriented.
Your tasks
- In close coordination with the Director of Gaming, you are responsible for the planning and management of the video department and all related areas
- You lead the Head of Video Production, the team of hosts and content producers, as well as the YouTube creators with their owned & operated channels
- As Head of Video, you are primarily responsible for implementing the video strategy and planning the goal achievement of all video and livestreaming offers (YouTube, Twitch, websites, events, DVD) using OKRs
- You monitor your annual budget for the department and work based on numbers and analysis for the consistent implementation of the goals
- You seek close exchange with the editorial teams of GameStar, GamePro, and MeinMMO during content planning and cross-projects (podcasts, events)
- You develop formats (VoD) and shows (Live) in collaboration with the video team and act as an important interface in close coordination with the sales and marketing team to create successful products for our target audiences and customers
This is what you bring
- You have completed a degree and/or a completed editorial or audio-visual education or comparable professional experience
- You have at least 5 years of leadership experience in a content, marketing, or production environment
- Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written
- You have the ambition to think even bigger about Webedia Gaming’s video presence and understand what it takes to build and successfully establish new video products
- You easily meet the high demands of our viewers and communities, as well as ensuring the economic success of the video department together with our advertising clients and partners in the gaming industry
- You are communicative, an absolute team player, and know how to motivate and when it is important to be assertive, constructive, and conflict-capable
- You are just as passionate about computer and video games as you are about team leadership and the development of employees
- You constantly question existing processes and have a good instinct for when you need to think ‘out of the box’ and when it should follow the manual
- You understand how users and communities act on different platforms (YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, TikTok) and what needs to be done to ensure they not only discover our content but also respond to it, allowing us to keep them engaged in the long term (for you, our communities and clients are always at the center)
- You are not afraid to make decisions (which you can justify well) and to take necessary risks to reach new target groups or try out new production techniques
- You view the constant changes in the media and gaming industry as motivation and opportunity
- You have extensive experience in project management and know the tools needed to successfully complete projects
- You have a strongly analytical approach and can evaluate analysis data from our own websites as well as external platforms and successfully implement them into understandable measures
- You maintain a strong network and therefore stay up-to-date on what is happening in the gaming, video, and livestream sectors
- You always remain calm even in stressful and exceptional situations, gladly take on responsibility, and always proceed in a solution-oriented manner
