Today, on March 24, the big Weather Week starts in Pokémon GO. This event is mainly about Pokémon that are affected by the weather. We will show you all the bonuses and more information about the event here.
When does the Weather Week run? It starts on Wednesday at 10:00 AM local time. The event will be active for 5 days and ends on March 29 at 8:00 PM local time.
There will be special weather spawns, a stardust bonus, and a new shiny in the event.
All bonuses and shinies for the Weather Week in Pokémon GO
These are the bonuses: It’s all about rainy and stormy weather. The appropriate bonuses are:
- Formeo appears more frequently in the wild – when it’s stormy or raining, Pokémon like Wingull or Piccolente will also appear more frequently
- From March 24 to March 27, Pokémon that like rain will appear in the wild. These include: Aquana, Loturzel, and Flunschlik.
- From March 27 to March 29, you will find Pokémon in the wild that like stormy weather. These include: Panzaeron, Schwalbini, and Dusselgurr.
- The shiny form of rain Formeo is making its debut in the game.
- In 5 km eggs, you can find: Enton, Quapsel, Wablu, Driftlon, Mantirps, Schallquap, and Piccolente
- The following monsters appear in raids: Flegmon, Zapplardin, Schwalboss, Pelipper, and the Therian form of Voltolos.
- In quests and a limited research, rain Formeo appears among others.
- Pokémon with weather bonuses give you more stardust when caught.
What is known about the spawns: In this event, the weather is crucial. Rain and wind enhance the event, as more event Pokémon are attracted. Also, during rain, the form of Formeo that can be shiny appears. In snow or sunshine, you will encounter Formeo forms that cannot be shiny.
Besides Formeo, there are no Pokémon among the spawns that are incredibly rare or special. Formeo is interesting mainly because the rain form is appearing as shiny for the first time.
The bonus with stardust is interesting. Pokémon with weather bonus naturally give more stardust and will drop even more of the important resource during the event.
What about raids? Here, you will encounter Voltolos in its Therian form until the event ends. The Electric-type Pokémon is among the best attackers of its type and ranks second behind Zekrom. So if you don’t have a good specimen yet, you can try your luck this week.
What happens next? The Weather Week is the last event that will take place this month. The events for April are not yet known, but are expected to be revealed in the coming days. One thing is for sure: a new legendary raid boss will appear on March 30. Therian Boreos will become available and will appear in Pokémon GO for the first time.
