In Destiny 2, you will soon be able to forge weapons yourself with the launch of Witch Queen. However, the new system is supposed to stand out completely from other crafting systems. We at MeinMMO will show you what you should know about it.
What is weapon crafting in Destiny 2? Bungie has already announced details about a new system in Destiny. With this, you will be able to forge your own weapons using resources and customize them to your needs.
You can create your own God Rolls and do not have to repeatedly play an activity until you finally get your desired roll.
However, crafting is supposed to differ from other MMOs. You will not be able to max out your weapon immediately, but you will first need to gain experience with it.
Weapons tailored to your playstyle
How are the weapons currently made? In Destiny 1 and 2, weapons have always been pre-made. You received them as rewards from activities and could only upgrade them. This is supposed to change with Witch Queen. You will have the opportunity to be the master of your own God Roll.
Many Guardian toys could be collected and did not have their own character. However, this should change for a forged weapon.
Important information to know:
- The crafting allows you to customize weapons
- Desired perks can be added or replaced
- Weapons must be leveled up through “experience”
- New resources will be needed for crafting
- New weapon type – Glaive will be craftable
This is how the forge will work: How the forge will function is still unclear, but some information regarding the crafted weapons and materials is known.
When you put a weapon together, it also needs to be fed with necessary experience points. These will be credited in the form of frequent use of your weapon. This will show that you are an expert with your chosen piece.
You cannot just start with a weapon in the God Roll; you have to work your way up to become an expert. However, once you have achieved that, you can exchange any available perk and shape your weapon as you like.
It is also emphasized that new players should have the same chances to build such weapons as hardcore players. Existing resource collections from Guardians will not be taken into account and cannot be used in the forge.
What do you think about the upcoming weapon crafting? Do you also think it will be the highlight of Witch Queen? Or is this not for you, and do you prefer to stick to the random rolls from activities? Let us know!
