Despite many different factors, aesthetics are often the first thing that catches the eye in video games. Graphics are not everything, but they are an important point to immediately engage players at first glance. The MeinMMO editorial team has looked at current and upcoming MMORPGs in 2025 and created a ranking that you can see in our new video.
What is the ranking based on? The MeinMMO editorial team has reviewed various MMORPGs with a focus on different factors to evaluate them based on their visual beauty. This obviously includes the graphics, but also other aspects such as the design of the worlds, the impact of interesting places, as well as the appearance and flow of the animations used.
Gameplay and monetization systems do not factor into the evaluation of individual games, but they are mentioned for a better impression.
Not all of the mentioned MMORPGs have been released yet, but they are expected to be published in 2025. Only games for which gameplay has already been released are considered. Only the visuals of this gameplay are assessed.

What is covered in the video? In the video, Lynn England takes you through the 5 MMORPGs that made it into the ranking. Even though the games are evaluated based on their visuals, the different games offer various aspects that particularly highlight their appearance.
Some seem to stand out particularly with their weather and lighting effects, others with their creativity and variety in world design. One game can immerse the player primarily through its character animations, while another shines with its attention to detail and character design.
As you can see, technical and creative aspects of design have been included in the ranking.
